Use the grade-point values on your transcript or in your course regulations. Letter-to-point mappings and repeat-course rules differ.
Enter grade points using your institution’s 4.0 scale. Include failed courses if your rules count them; exclude pass/fail courses that carry no grade points.

Semester and cumulative GPA
Enter all included courses for a cumulative result, or only this semester for a semester GPA. Do not average semester GPAs without weighting by their included credits. This calculator supports values up to 4.0, not a 4.3 or weighted high-school scale.
Frequently asked questions
How is GPA calculated?
Add each course’s grade points multiplied by its credits, then divide by the total included credits. A 4.0 in a 3-credit course and a 3.0 in another 3-credit course gives 3.5.
